We expect that the residence will be open 18 months after construction begins. Because financing is not yet secured, we cannot set a firm date for opening, but we are hoping for a grand opening in 2025.
The fee covering rent and services will depend on the terms of the construction financing and the overall cost of construction. We anticipate the monthly fee will be $5,500.

All the suites will have one bedroom and most will be about 600 SF plus a 90 SF balcony. Four corner suites will be slightly smaller with half-size balconies.
Yes. We anticipate the second occupant will pay a monthly fee of approximately $800 in addition to the monthly fee for the unit and first occupant.
All suites will have small kitchens with sink, induction cooktop, refrigerator, and counter space for small appliances such as a toaster oven, coffee maker, and electric kettle.
Suite bathrooms will have showers only. The second-floor tub room will have a walk-in tub for residents’ use.
Breakfast, lunch, and a three-course dinner, weekly suite cleaning, laundering of sheets and towels, and 24-hour emergency response will all be included in the monthly fee.
Yes; Snug Cove House will be pet-friendly.
Yes. All general areas and elevators will be fully wheelchair accessible, and all suites will be accessible or easily converted to being accessible.
A washing machine and dryer will be located on each floor for residents to use for personal laundry.
There will be underground parking for cars and scooters. Charging for electric cars and scooters will also be available. There will be a fee for car parking.
Translink’s Eaglecliff bus stops at the front door. The residence’s own bus will be available for special trips and tours.
Snug Cove House is a residence for independent seniors. Priority will be given to Bowen islanders, and then to the family of islanders.
The residence will have a practitioner’s office where visiting health professionals can see residents. If residents cannot live completely independently, they can obtain Assisted Living services from Vancouver Coastal Health or private agencies.
All residents will be provided with “Lifeline” or a similar 24/7 emergency response system.
The residence will have a manager, cook, serving, cleaning, and maintenance staff and a recreation director.
Each suite has its own separate ventilation and climate-control system. All general area surfaces are easily cleaned. A portion of the dining room is especially designed for safe visitor meetings in case of an infection event and infection event contingency plans are in place.
